1. What is Color Me Happy?

We are a scanlation group! :) Our name comes from the phrase “color me [description]” and since scanlation makes us happy, Color Me Happy just fits. We all agreed on it. Well, almost.

2. Wait, why is the hiragana so weird?

Well, first thing is… since Color Me Happy is an English phrase, it should have been written in Katakana, like so:

カラー・ミー・ハッピー

I, however, think Katakana looks butt-ugly compared to Hiragana. On the other hand, it looks pretty weird written properly in Hiragana too. Like this:

からあ・みい・はっぴい

I didn’t like it, so I did what most manga-ka and doujinshi-ka people love to do: combine the two. And thus, we have what’s on the main page. If you don’t like it, DEAL.

3. So what do you scanlate?

For now, we’re concentrating our efforts on scanlating doujinshi. As we get more experienced, we’ll move onto actual manga and all that. Maybe even a fansubs division. Look out for things like vintage manga, shoujo, and seinen works.

4. Huh? What is this thing called “doujinshi”? And what’s “shoujo”? “Seinen”? “Shounen-ai”?

If you don’t know, then why are you here in the first place?? GOOGLE IT. No, I kid. Doujinshi is, in simple terms, fan-comics. There are loads of doujinshi for any manga/anime series. CLAMP, for exampe, started out as a doujinshi group before they did their professional debut as manga-ka. Shoujo is a genre of manga aimed at young girls, but generally women (and men and boys, but not so much) of any age read them. Seinen is another genre aimed at adults. And no, I don’t mean porn. I mean, serious themes and etc. Lastly, shounen-ai is a genre aimed at the female audience, depicting romantic homosexual relationships. (Not to be confused with the more explicit genre of Yaoi.) CMH will be doing projects featuring both hetero and homosexual relationships.

5. Wait, then isn’t this illegal?

Uh, well, think about it this way. Doujinshi is kind of illegal in and of itself because the doujinshi-ka is making money off of someone else’s original idea. At least, CMH isn’t making money off of this? We’re… spending a lot of our own money actually… ;_;

6. Well, you’ve got a point there. So… When do you update? OR When are you going to release *title here*?

When we’re done with a project, we’ll post it ASAP. But if you keep nagging/annoying us, we’ll delay the releases out of spite. ]<

7. Where do I download these releases? OR Can you upload so and so onto Megaupload, Mediafire, etc.?

We’ll be testing out methods that will work best for us. :) Please be patient. Download links will be provided on the Projects page.

8. Can you translate *title here*? Pretty please? ;_;

Okay, so… if you have something you want us to scanlate, contact us and explain why you like it and why you think it should be scanlated. If after that, we read it and we like it, then we’ll most likely accept it as a project. BUT don’t leave us messages saying “OMGAH ITS SO GOOD!!1!” because then we’ll just ignore you. PS: If you don’t have decent scans for those projects, then we really can’t do anything. ):
